The Madonna’s

The  Black Madonna or Black Virgin tends to refer to statues or paintings in Western Christendom of the Virgin Maryum (Mary) and the Infant Isa (Jesus), where both figures are depicted as black. The Black Madonna can be found both in Catholic and Orthodox countries. The term used frequently to designate these images is enculturated Madonnas, meaning artwork by African or African-American artists
